Because of the thrill associated with the growth of knowledge, the rate of scientific progress has been progress with alarming speed. DNA was first discovered in 1953; a mere 43 years later, humans were able to bring about a living organism through cloning. Is progress always good? Mary Shelley explores this question and reflects her fear of scientific advancements in her frightening novel Frankenstein. Science should have limits. None exclusively those who have experienced them can conceive of the enticements of science. In other studies you go as far as others have departed before you, and there is nonhing more to know; solely in a scientific pursuit there is unremitting food for discovery and wonder (Shelley 29-30). Limitations on scientific using should be created by humans based on human ethics. The natures of birth and death should not be trifled with. One should require himself of the possible benefits and harms of his experiment. Even if the experiment was to have great benefits for serviceman but was to go against nature, then humans should not squabble with the project.

The experiment would have been formed through selfish aspirations and should not be carried out. Man is a single species in a world where millions reside, thus, mankind is too insignificant to interfere with nature. Although scientific advances make life easier and longer for humans, obsession with progress may cause people to lose parts of their humanity. Dangers with science give-up the ghost evident especially when humans lose control of their knowledge and creations. For example, in Huxleys Brave New World, the worlds excessive reliance on science and technology finished the aspects of human independence and morality.
