The Glass Menagerie
The national of The Glass Menagerie, I found, is related to the difficulty of facing humanity which as a result makes each member of the Wingfield family disembowel into the private world of their own where they can find comfort. The weakest clench reality has is on Laura who drops out of college and stays mostly as home touch by her glass animals. Her glass animals atomic number 18 dangerously fragile akin her inner self. Tom, Lauras brother, is undecided in functioning in the real world just in the end, he feels no motivation to purse a career or relationships. He prefers to retreat into his own teensy-weensy world. In this novel there are many symbols unmatchable of them is Lauras Glass Menagerie, or collection of animals, which is the plays central symbol. Like the figurines, Laura is delicate and somehow old-fashioned. The Glass menagerie also represents Lauras imaginative world. The glass unicorn in Lauras collection is one of the other symbols. As Jim points out, unicorns are solitary because of they are different from other horses.
Laura too is unusual, lonely, and ill-adapted to the world she is surrounded by. The fate of the unicorn is also a similar version of Lauras fate in Scene Seven. When Jim dances with and then kisses Laura, the unicorns trump card breaks off, and it becomes just other horse. The way Jim treats Laura makes her seem more like just another girl, but when he tells her he has person else this makes Laura shatter like unicorn as she is only just another girl. Eventually, Laura gives Jim the unicorn as a souvenir.
