Mexican-American War

In 1846 there was a struggle between Mexico and the States that lasted two years. Before the fight Mexico and Americas relationship wasnt so great. Texas had win their emancipation from Mexico and the U.S. annexed texas in 1844 but Mexico never accepted the independence of texas. Then there was disagreement with the borers of texas with Mexico. In 1845 a spick-and-span president was elected. His name was James Polk and he agreed strongly with Manifest Destiny
Polk felt he had a canon to acquire all the land to the Pacific. He do a deal with England that divided the Oregon territory and tried to cloud New Mexico and California from Mexico but they refused.
President Polk sent troop to the area between the Nueces River Where Mexico verbalise the shore was and the Rio Grande which the United States and Texas believed was the border with Mexico. Mexican troops were patrolling the area and a little dissension took place leaving 11 American soldiers dead. I envisage President Polk sent troops to see what was going on in this area between the two rivers.
