The Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred, Lord Tennyson and Disabled by Wilfred Owen are two verse forms that contain patchy aspects of the tragedy and horror of war. The poesy by Wilfred Owen has many examples of tragedy and horror in war as he talks about a man who commences derriere from war with horrific injuries. Disabled starts off in the first stanza with a man who is in a wheelchair waiting for the night to come as he has nonhing better to do than sleep, He sit in a wheeled chair, waiting for dark. As he is in a wheelchair and has no-one to help him he is not able to go anywhere or to do anything else than sit in a wheelchair. This is a very depressing part of the poem as it is very sad how he will not be able to do anything about it like he has wasted the rest of his animateness. Another part in the poem where he shows the horror and tragedy of war is when the poet uses strong adjectives like, ghastly in the first stanza which stands out as a horrible, unpleasant death-like give-and-take describing the suit he wears. Owen also uses past memories in the poem of how he used to have a great life with football, drinking and women. In the old times, sooner he threw away his knees.



The poet is or so showing that this man was a normal human who had a great life, but then he threw away his knees as if one minute he had everything, the next with nothing. Wilfred Owen also just now uses sad phrases to show the tragedy and horror of war such as, How cold and late it is, which is face not only that the support is cold and late as in dark, but Owen is byword that the man is now cold on the inside as he has nothing left with him which is quite depressing.
