ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper was to ruminate the kind between three party logistics and doance of manufacturing degenerates focusing on the Ugandan manufacturing firms. The study was guided with the objectives of examining the drivers of third party logistics as well as the challenges associated with the discourse of third party logistics. The study adopted a literary productions review methodology where literature related to third party logistics was reviewed. The results indicate that the major drivers for the use of third party logistics were cost reduction, the need to concentrate on core activities and the need to access specialized services from the third party logistics providers. The study also revealed that among the challenges of third party logistics was the short(p) supplier commitment, Insufficient Supplier resources, many suppliers give specious information about their financial stand. Further results showed that there is a strong relationship between third party logistics and firm performance as it helps the firm to cut costs and better on the quality of the products and services its offering the market.
