Eric Harris was born in Wichita, Kansas on April 9, 1981. Growing up Erics family often relocated, because Erics beginner was a U.S. Air Force transport pilot, while his mother was a homemaker. The Harris family had finally settled in Littleton, Colorado in 1993, when Erics father had retired from military service. After settling in Littleton, Eric met Dylan Klebold who was born on September 11, 1981, in Lakewood, Colorado. Growing up Klebolds family had attended a Lutheran Church, where Dylan had attended confirmation classes in accordance with Lutheran traditions. The pair had both entered Columbine High School, where Harris and Klebold were labeled as the unpopular kids, which made them frequent targets of bullying at their high school.
They two were described as belonging to the Goth socialisation; they were reportedly members of a clique at Columbine called the dig in coat Mafia.
Warning Signs
What is especially interesting about this massacre is that there were a number of early warning signs that had surfaced foregoing to the events that occurred on April 20, 1999. Many believe that if friends, teachers, and family would have paid to a greater extent attention to the warning signs that the pair had displayed, this massacre could have possibly been prevented.
